Yes, we will film with you. But there are things you need to know first, because the rules are different for you.
Nothing in the Uniform Code of Military Justice mentions adult films. The difficulty is Article 134, the general article, which reaches conduct found to be “prejudicial to good order and discipline” or to bring “discredit upon the armed forces”. What that means in practice is decided by your command, after the fact, once somebody has found out. If you are an officer, Article 133 sits on top of it.
Being paid makes it harder rather than easier. Payment turns this into outside employment, which your command can prohibit, and which needs written approval if you file a financial disclosure. And anything that could be used to put pressure on you is precisely what a clearance review exists to look for.
“I’ll wear a mask.”
It does not work. The platforms run compliance checks, and their people have to match the performer’s face against the verification photograph and the government ID — a face hidden throughout the film fails that check, and the film does not go up. And it would not protect you anyway: a mask hides you from strangers, and strangers were never the risk. The people who could end your career are people who know you, and they will know your body, your voice and your tattoos.
“I film myself all the time and nothing happens.”
Different thing. Private video, or something posted on Reddit, is not commercially published, nobody verifies anybody, and no federal record-keeping applies to it. What we do is published on platforms that are legally required to hold and check records identifying every performer — 18 U.S.C. § 2257. Your legal name and your government ID become part of a permanent record. That is the difference between what you have been doing safely and what you are asking to do now.
Two things, in this order.
First
Read the release. Nothing is asked of you until you have. Clause 3 is the part that concerns you — a box you tick and initial, recording that we told you all of the above and that you decided to go ahead anyway. Please take your own legal advice before you sign it. This is permanent, and we would rather you were sure.
Then
It is charged to your card, and it comes back to you. If you arrive on the appointed date and we film, it is refunded in full that day. If you change your mind, tell us at least 72 hours before the scheduled time and it is refunded in full. If you cancel later than that, or you do not turn up, it is forfeited.
It is not a fee. We are not making money from it and there is nothing to buy.
We ask this of people in the military and nobody else, for an honest reason: we have been let down, more than once, by men who signed everything and then changed their minds on the day. One did not turn up at all. A filming day is a whole day for both of us.
It is your decision, not ours. If you would rather not, we understand completely.
If you still want to, we would be glad to film with you.
